Our Story
Our story began in 1954 when a group of young families from Columbia, South Carolina moved out into the growing Forest Acres neighborhood and saw the need for a new church in the community. Fueled by enthusiasm, confidence and faith, they planted a church to nurture their children, feed their souls through worship and
become an influential ministry presence in the community.
Since then, Trenholm Road United Methodist Church has grown from 6 charter families to over 1800 members, and from worshipping at the Carolina Children’s Home chapel, to a constructing a campus that today features a large sanctuary, classroom and office space, and a Leisure Ministries building with a full gym, kitchen and dining room. We've also been blessed with the opportunity to extend our ministry throughout the Midlands with the weekly television broadcast of our worship services.
Today Trenholm Road continues to be a dynamic, Christ-centered community with a richly diverse congregation and a growing heart for ministry around the world.
