Youth Ministry at Trenholm Road
Trenholm Road youth is comprised of 6th through 12th grade students. Our main goal in ministry to help our youth develop a relationship with Christ and find God's love available to them. It is also a space where they can discover who they are within the church and find out how to use their gifts to celebrate their relationship with God.
Youth are encouraged to attend UMYF on Sunday evenings. We meet most Sundays throughout the school year, only taking breaks due to retreats or other happenings within the church. During the summer months, our schedule does become varied, please look to the Sunday bulletin or newsletter on the website for the most up to date information on UMYF happenings. UMYF is a great fun way to dive into God's message through hands on unique ways.
We invite all youth to participate in Sunday School each week. We offer classes based on current grade level.
During the week, we offer students a chance to dive deeper into the Bible by joining our Small Groups studies. They meet during the school year and are for all youth members.
Outside of the regular week:
During the year we have many opportunities for fellowship outside of our regular weekly activities.
Usually two to three times during the year, TRUMC youth depart the walls of our church and go on the road! Our Retreats take us to many destinations around South Carolina and beyond. Retreats are a special component of our youth spiritual formation. A time to leave the everyday behind and spend special time focusing on strengthening their relationship with God.
Summer Mission Trips are a great way for youth to be involved in serving our local community. It is a time where youth can put their faith in action and be the hands and feet of Christ. Currently we have three options for our youth to consider, based on age level.
One week out of the year is not enough for missions, therefore we have special Mission events throughout the year where youth are encouraged to serve in the community.
