We believe marriage was ordained by God and blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ. It has always been held in high honor by the church, and we view it as a sacred and serious covenant made between two people. A wedding ceremony in the church is essentially a worship experience where sacred vows are taken. As such, the rules governing the conduct of worship always take precedence over social considerations - everything done in a church wedding ceremony should be appropriate to a service of worship.
