Fair Trade Goods

Trenholm Road believes in social justice.  Each summer, a group from our church travels to El Salvador to support San Salvador Methodist Church’s free medical clinic.  The team from Trenholm Road works side by side with those in the San Salvador congregation as they provide free medical services to those in need.  An easy way for you to support this missions trip is to buy fair trade goods at Trenholm Road.  We currently sell coffee from El Salvador, as well as an assortment of teas and cocoa, the last Sunday of each month.  Here are the prices:  $10 regular coffee, $11 decaf coffee, $4 tea, $10 cocoa, and $10 travel mug.

Why fair trade?  Fair trade does the following:  provides better working conditions for the farmers, provides a better wage for the farmers, and is more sustainable.  Buying fair trade is a simple way for us to show our support for social justice.

Trenholm Road works hand in hand with Equal Exchange. Equal Exchange works with farmer co-ops in many countries worldwide, such as El Salvador.

If you would like to order fair trade goods in order to support the 2012 El Salvador missions trip, please contact Lindsey Willard.   Also, we are always looking for volunteers to sell coffee!  Please email mrschris23@gmail.com if you are interested in selling fair trade goods before or after any service at Trenholm Road.
